ASUS announced at Computex at the beginning of June that it would expand its Seashell range with its largest netbook to date, in the form of the 11.6-inch Asus Eee PC 1101HA. This week, the product page of the new Seashell netbook went live at Asus Global Website. Until now, Asus has contented itself with 7-inch, 8.9-inch and a whole range of 10-inch netbooks, like the 1000HA, the 1005HA Seashell and the 1008HA Seashell.

Today Amazon Germany uploaded product pages with e-mail notification for the new netbook, following the footsteps of other European online retailers. The new netbook is expected to ship in Europe in the last week of July.

The super-slim netbook comes with a near full-sized keyboard and a claimed battery life of up to eleven hours. The trackpad has multitouch gesture support, and the 11.6-inch screen has a 1366x768-pixel resolution, which is more than the 1024x600-pixel displays you get on standard 10-inchers. Unlike its smaller Seashell cousins though, which have Intel Atom N280 processors the Eee PC 1101HA has a 1.3GHz Intel Atom Z520 CPU.

Just like the 1005HA Seashell the 1101HA has an easy access memory bay door and a removable battery. If you want to upgrade the RAM in your 1005HA all you have to do is remove one screw on the access panel on the bottom of the netbook. The Eee PC 1008HA model has no memory bay door due to ultra slim design and does not have a replaceable battery.
