LG Electronics is taking another stab at popularizing its netbooks in the U.S. Last year, LG entered the U.S. netbook market through a trial partnership with AT&T, but the alliance ended after a few months. This year, LG will be pushing netbooks again, along with other non-phone gadgets.
In preparation, LG expanded its U.S. netbook line from one device to three. There is the X120R, which will be available at RadioShack later this year, the 10-inch X200 and the higher-end X300. The X120R and X200 are classic netbooks, with built-in 3G broadband and the "Starter Edition" of Microsoft's Windows 7 software. The Wi-Fi-only X300 is more laptop-like, with a larger screen and the more expensive Windows 7 Home Edition.
